suGar Yoshinaga
suGar Yoshinaga is a musician/ composer/ lyricist/ producer, most notably as the guitarist/ voice of Buffalo Daughter which releases 8 original albums worldwide from its 1996 debut on Beastie Boys’ US label Grand Royal. She was born in Fukuoka and raised in Tokyo in the family who loved music, and started playing the piano at the age of 4. Her parents’ choices of jazz and classical music might have been her musical influences at the early age but American and British rock music became her big ones as she grew up. At the age of 11, she got her first acoustic guitar to play those rock music to, and bought an electric when she was 12 to start playing in the band. Music had been always essential part of her everyday life and it eventually led her to pursue music career. Beside playing in her own band – Buffalo Daughter, Metalchicks and Halo Orbit, she appears in recording/ live sessions with variety of artists such as Air, Sean Lennon, Arto Lindsay, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Towa Tei, Cornelius, etc. She also constantly works on composing for commercial, film/TV soundtrack, and computer game music.
シュガー吉永
福岡生まれ東京育ち。10代の頃にイギリスとアメリカのロック（特にニューウェーブ）に刺激を受けギターを始める。1990年ハバナ・エキゾチカでデビュー、その解散後93年から始めたバッファロー・ドーターはアメリカのレーベル・グランドロイヤルと契約、世界各国でアルバムがリリースされ海外ツアー漬けの日々を送る。2001年から始めたバンド、メタルチックスでは映画やTVアニメのサントラを手がけ、個人でもゲームやCM音楽制作など多数。2016年、新バンド・ヘイロー・オービットをホアン・アルデレッテ（ex.マーズヴォルタ）、マーク・ジュリアナと始動。2019年、Buffalo Daughter旧譜をアナログ盤で限定発売&日本ツアー、多彩なゲストミュージシャンを迎えたライブ映像をYouTubeにて公開。2021年Buffalo Daughter７年ぶりの新作「We Are The Times」発売。サウンドプロデュースを手がけたBorisの新作「W」と「Heavy Rocks」が2022年1月と8月に発売。BorisとBuffalo Daughterの共同ツアーNew Rock Universeを東京、大阪、名古屋で行う。バンド活動30周年となる2023年、Buffalo Daughter旧譜2作を新たにリマスターアナログ盤で再発。国内外のツアーも予定。その他新たなプロジェクトの構想も進めている。
