Sugar participated in The project Chopin Residue, created under the artistic and musical direction of Mariusz Szypura, merges an experimental album, an immersive exhibition, and a one-of-a-kind live performance into a unified artistic statement.
Featuring contributions from Lee Ranaldo, Adrian Utley, David Pajo, Matthew Herbert, John Stanier, Jim O’Rourke, Fennesz, Masayoshi Fujita, Zoh Amba, Joey Waronker, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Gail Ann Dorsey, Sean O’Hagan, John McEntire, Sugar Yoshinaga, Benoît Pioulard, Abul Mogard and others, the project reimagines Chopin’s music through avant-garde sound, contemporary composition, and visual interpretation.
The album will be released November 28, 2025 on Bandcamp. Sugarplays the guitar on Prelude Op. 28 No. 2 feat. John Stanier, Sugar Yoshinaga, Charlie Draper (Track #6).
